Song-Premiere: Split Silk - "The Magician's Clumsy Apprentice" (Coma Regalia-Cover)

As a tribute to COMA REGALIA -the legendary band by Edie Quinn- Zegema Beach Records will put out "The One who became Many". It's a compilation with Screamo/Emo-bands and/or some of Edie's friends covering a song by COMA REGALIA. And for sure, it's also a tribute to Edie as a person, and for what she has done for the scene and the people involved. The compilation is out in three days, on October 9th, on 100 cassettes and the beautiful cover design was done by the guy behind WARREN OF OHMS. I'll spare the long talk for another time, and will just get to the important part of this post:

Today I have the honor to present you the premiere of one of the comp-tracks, and it's by an artist that really catched me with her last EP. It's also a person I really could connect with, when discovering a similar taste in quirky, 90s Post-Hardcore and such. The person I'm talking about is Lucca Cassandra Carver aka SPLIT SILK. Lucca chose an early COMA REGALIA-song, from their second album "Ours is the Cause most noble". 

But without furhter ado, here's what she had to say about COMA REGALIA & Edie Quinn:

"I first met Edie at a fest in Texas in 2015 where one of my old bands played. I was instantly taken with her earnestness, heart, and the way she embodied her music. I still think about that COMA set a lot honestly. I've been happy to become friends with her over the years and even collaborate on a project with her and Tom Schlatter called LIZAREL. All of her projects mean a lot to me, ACHE//EMILIE being one of my guiding lights, but the COMA album 'Ours is the Cause Most Noble' is forever tattooed into my heart. 'Magician's Clumsy Apprentice' is a very special and sincere song. To me it's about honoring and cherishing the people in our lives who affected us in our passions. Showing us the amazing things we can create and experience. So this cover is dedicated to Edie Quinn Decker, the Sincere Screamo Sorceress. I hope you know that I owe it all to you. ❤️❤️❤️"
