"Won the Argument"
Yesterday FUGAZI's final album "The Argument" turned 20, just like AS FRIENDS RUST's only studio album "Won" did.
"The Argument" was the last hurray for the most important Post-Hardcore-outfit in the history of the game. It is the most well defined and most matured album the band out of Washinton, D.C. ever released and has many arguments (!) on his site, when it comes to debating the best FUGAZI-album.
"Won" on the other hand was the long awaited debut Full Length from the Melodic-Hardcore-band out of Florida. In their run AFR were having some major issues with line-up changes, which led to some delays of the album. The record title is more of a joke, cause their friends were betting if this album would ever see the light of day. It finally did in 2001 and it delivered big time. For me it was interesting to hear Damien Moyal (of MORNING AGAIN and SHAI HULUD fame) in a new setting, but he met the challenge perfectly.
Happy belated round anniversaries to these companions of my youth!
