Review: Nerver - Cash

Label: The Ghost is Clear Records/Knife Hits Records

I'm not in the mood of blowing up a review for the sake of calling it a full review, cause in general NERVER's style is pretty pure and there's not much there to philosophize about. But I feel that their second album slips under the radar somehow. Basically this is really solid noisy, destructive 90s-Post-Hardcore with some melodic undertones. You get the deal, it's somewhere in the middle of THE JESUS LIZARD, UNSANE and HELMET. When they get more melodic, they also remind me of UNWOUND or DANIEL STRIPED TIGER or LUNGFISH, and for sure their label mates in EYECANDY. The Ghost is Clear Records is a safe haven for this kind of style and you can always count on them if you're into similar stuff.

To keep it short as promised, NERVER do a good job when it comes to the flow of the whole record. Sure, this is monotonous and pure, just like UNSANE did it back in the day. They throw in just enough calm and structure to mix things up, though in essence this should click with you within a minute of playtime or otherwise you won't get happy with it. "Cash" is a fucked-up, notorious bastard of a record that delivers what was ordered.
