borderlinefuckup presents "Some Skramz in Australia" (Mixtape)

"Some Skramz in Australia" is the first compilation under the borderline fuckup-moniker and the brainchild of my buddy Michael.

This mix is a "Free/Name your Price"-Download and we don't intend to take a profit from it. Needless to say, all rights go to the respective artist/label and we hope all associates are okay with it.

If anybody wants to leave a few bucks, we will put them straight to the "mEMOries"-project, our Tape-sampler with a yet-to-be-announced charitable cause set to be released in 2023. If not, then save your money for "mEMOries" and enjoy this mix! But now, let's hear what Michael has to say about "Some Skramz in Australia":

I put together this little mixtape following a particularly severe, extended bout of nostalgia. Featuring exclusively Australian bands with releases between 2002 and 2009, this is intended as the first part in a series of similar ‘mixes’. As such, it in no way captures or expresses the diversity of music and artists working within this milieu at the time. Rather, I put together an hour of tunes I thought sounded good together.

The music I am most eager to share here is from the Off Minor-tinged Left Hand Cuts The Right and the jangly, lo-fi screamo of James Dean. These are joined by the compact, blistering hardcore of Circuits; the taut, disciplined intricacy of Truth From Facts; some classics from Love Like...Electrocution; and the odd saxophone detour from QuĂ©bec. There’s also a few early My Disco tracks in there, too, as I still feel them more satisfyingly visceral and immediate than the band’s subsequent output, alongside a few other cute bits and pieces.

I hope you find some music you like in this mix that you may not have heard before.

(Michael)
