Single-Premiere: Riversleem - "Eating Teeth"

Two and a half years after "A Debut Release by Riversleem", the chaotic HC-outfit RIVERSLEEM is back with "A Second Release by Riversleem". Their sophomore EP is out on September 25 via Zegema Beach Records.

Today I have the honor to share their first single "Eating Teeth" with all of you. Here's what the band has to say about the song:

"'Eating Teeth' in many ways is about reflecting on what we’ve creatively accomplished together as a band and people thus far, while also reconciling with what that might mean or hold for the future. The songs tone and energy are abrasive and is meant to open our new EP ('A Second Release by Riversleem') with a sense of urgency and confidence, almost as a proclamation of what the entire release is meant to invoke or represent.

This song dives into various ideas and concepts that are really important to us when thinking about Riversleem as a whole, such as musical influences, visual design, and ultimately recording and archiving the strong camaraderie that we have for each other. The lyrics in Eating Teeth, 'from allusions of green, to fixtures of red' references the growth and differences in the "eras" from our first EP ('A Debut Release by Riversleem'), which had a lot of this dark and grimy green imagery, to this new release that uses red as a statement for growth and grief.

Our first release was full of new experiences, and almost completely existed during the pandemic, to the point where it was alluding to what it 'really' meant to play and be in a band. Eating Teeth makes it known that this new release is a fixture of where we are now as musicians, friends, and people, while also identifying the readiness of what is to come.

And now enjoy the reckless opener of "A Second Release by Riversleem" and be aware of the full EP!
